Querying Perfmon/Sysmon data stored in a table

  • Hello, first post, so bare with me.

I've configured system monitor (formerly perfmon) on a Windows Server 2003 machine to monitor several other servers (Win2K and Win2003 database and application servers). Each counter log is logging various counters to individual SQL 2005 databases running on the same server that running system monitor.

I created completely empty databases, and Perfmon created 3 tables in each called: CounterData, CounterDetails, and DisplaytoID. I'm a little weak on my T-SQL and am trying to find a sample query that uses the appropriate inner join to extract meaningful information from the databases. Obviously, it's tough to get pertinent search results on the web for this with terms like perfmon, database, query etc. Any examples, resources, or information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Warren
