query timeout problem

  hi,

  we are running sql2k on win2k3. we get query timout error while try to run a query from vb/asp on a table containing about 3.8 million records.

  Do anybody has any clue?

  Query:

  select * from calls where calldate between '20050504' and getdate() and username='.isdfh'

  Execution time: 1st time 5 mins approx, 2nd time mins 48 secs

  DDL file: http://202.3.130.27/test/calls.sql

  Sample data file: http://202.3.130.27/test/calls.txt

  (result of the query on top)
