I am going to upgrade a 2005 dev on Windows Server 2008 to 2008 R2 tomorrow morning. Just curious if anyone has experienced any issues with this? We discussed uninstall, reinstall... but I think this will be easier. Thoughts?

I've done a number of those as in-place upgrades with no issues. I'd still recommend running the 2008R2 version of the upgrade advisor first, but other than that... I think you'll be fine. Now, I'd be less relaxed about a production upgrade. There I prefer side-by-side upgrades if I can possibly afford it.
