Hi all,
I am facing a peculiar problem here. The SQL Server 2000 service has not been starting at all on my local system ever since I changed the password for my system's administrator account. When I starting it manually from the service manager I get this error "The service did not start due to a logon failure" followed by a "An error 1069-(The service did not start due to a logon failure)occured while performing this service operation on the MSSQLServer service" What could probably the reason? Urgent help required. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the SQL Server service is running under the sys admin account. Find MSSQLServer in Admin Tools / Services and right click - select Properties and then the Log On tab. You will be able to change username / password here.
