Hi,
I am 2 days into SSRS and am not sure how to go about it.
Here is what I need. I have a line chart which is currently displaying data for a certain period. My input parameter is “Effective Date” for a measure “Qty”. I now need a text box which will cumulate values for “Qty” for the previous year’s rolling 12 months.
Eg: The line chart will initially show monthly data Jan 2007 – Aug 2007 (Please note, it can be any time period. My text box should display cumulative values for the previous 12 months from the start date i.e. 1st Jan 2006 – 31st Dec 2006. Here the crucial part is the start date. The end date is not important since the 12 months start from the from date. My time dimension is Effective Date. The members of this dimension are Month, Date, Quarter, Year and a Time hierarchy. I need month as my parameter. So, I pulled Effective Date. Month in my parameter box and selected Range Inclusive. I therefore got 2 dates “From Effective Date Month” and “To Effective Date month”.
To understand the exact format of my “From Effective Date Month”, I pulled it into a text box and ran the query. What it returned was “ [Effective Date].[Month].&[2007-01-01T00:00:00].
Also, can you please provide a step by step answer on how it should be done in SSRS. Any help will be really appreciated.
Thanks.
