Lowell, When I read your last post I thought of an MDI (mutliple document interface) with four dialogs/windows. Main window to control the other three...AKA the dashboard.
The other windows are your camera 1, 2, 3, etc. I have never ran video through an app before. I have spent the most of the last 15 plus years as an operational DBA. Am using C# to build my Script storage app and DB monitoring tool. I may take a look at running video through a .NET app later today.
Problem with creating your own program is the ability for others to support it.
