  • Nice question, Andy, thanks. I was somewhat expecting the answer to the second query to involve lots of asterisks (e.g. "***-**-****" or "***********"), but since none of the choices included that, I figured a numeric value would fill in from right to left.

    You need to look at the newer version of SQL Server. If you're talking about ANSI SQL, few people care because this is an SQL Server forum.
