Not sure where this question goes, but wondering how SQL server compares to PostgreSQL. Is there a good source for comparing features?
Thanks,
Sam

Not sure I've seen a good one. I know lots of Oracle like things are in PostgreSQL, so that may be a good start.
are you looking for things in terms or programming, admin, ?
Is this to decide which you want to use or perhaps to considering porting code?

I'm checking out some of the open source options in terms of perhaps porting over an application. I looked at MySQL and was stunned that they just now have stored procedure capabilites. That told me all I needed to know there. Plus no administrative capabilities.
Postgres seems to be a different story, but it seems that everyone is strongly in one camp or the other. I grew up on SQL server, know little about Oracle, but exploring what's out there.

Don't suppose anyone out there has found good postgres vs sql server websites / docs etc... I've been asked to investigate sql server vs postgres but only have experience with sql server.
Really looking for a list of features + pros & cons mainly focusing on:
O/S compatibility
Performance
Limiting factors
Support
GUI
Programming language
etc...
I've been having a look around and getting feel for the differences but haven't found any killer sites yet.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks
Paul
