Policy management

  • I have not made use of Policy management yet in SQL server.

I would like to know from other DBAs what are the policies you are using?

    thanks

  • Since Surface Area Configuration was done away with in SQL 2008, I have created a policy for some servers that utilize secure the surface area.

  • I have implemented most of the policies offered up by Microsoft as Best Practices...

Monitoring Best Practices by Using Policy-Based Management

...plus I roll a few of my own tailored to the specific environment.

  • I have used policies to ensure developers create objects in the correct schema. E.g. We want stored procs in environment X to go into schema xxx.
