Placing Data files on NAS

  • Hi experts,

Is it ok to run a Production DB with data files and log files sitting on NAS.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of this?I am doing my research on this.

    Many thanks

    T.

  • People do this all the time. It's relatively standard. The only real issue with it is ensuring that your network doesn't become the bottleneck instead of I/O. That's just about ensuring that you're using good hardware, correctly configured.
