Performance in a standalone server and a cluster server

  • Assuming that a standalone server has everything same as a node in cluster, such as CPU and memory.

    They use the same RAID.

They have the same database and data file allocation.

    Which one runs faster?

Any input will be more than welcome.

  • They should be the same.

The cluster admin adds almost no overhead to SQL. It's IsAlive checks are very low-impact.
