My Server is hosting SQL Server 2000 & Sql Server 2005. as we are implementing monitor tool & due to that i have to unload & then reload counters..
So i did "unloadctr sqlctr.ini" and then try to reload "loadctr sqlctr.ini"
i see that message counter already exsits but don't see those counter in Performon window.
Any help to get this counters back without installing SQL Server will be highly appreciated.
Thanks

I have encountered this before, but I can't remember the exact solution from memory. It's something along the lines of something locking the performance monitor counters before SQL Server starts, causing the counters to not be loaded or able to be referenced.
I think our specific problem involved monitoring software - it was getting its hooks into things before SQL Server could. Try the obvious ones - restart SQL Server, restart the entire server.
