Package Execution Utility

    HI (Again),

    I have deployed my package using the Deployment Utility manager and when I run the package, I have the Utility window come up. Can someone please explain the Logging option to me. My package fails but with no hint as to why. I am not sure what a "logging provider" is, much less how to update the connection string?

    A log provider specifies the type of log (sql server table, flat file, windows event log, ...) and the connection manager needed to write to that log.

    Thanks for the explanation, can you elaborate on the connection manager part. Give an example? When I indicate a flat file for the log provider, a list of some of my packages appear in the Configuration String dropdown, but not an option to create a new one.

    Do I need to go into the package and setup something?

    I think it is best to set-up logging right away in the packages themselves.
