  Im adding an send mail task into my DTS packages everything works fine.

  But it looks like sometimes Oulook locks up. I need to stop the server restart and everything is back to normal.

  Until the time the DTS task sends an email then it locks again.

  Has anyone seen this?

  I have not had the problem myself, but there are many posts about email problems with SQL and Outlook.

  My suggestion would be to avoid the problem and use DTS SMTP Task from http://www.sqldev.net

  Once you migrate to SQL 2005 you can use Database Mail and remove Outlook from the server altogether.
