OS security patch changes the build number for SQL server

    hi,

    after installing the a OS security updates

    i realize my my Sql server 2008r2 sp2 become -> build version = 10.50.4321

    Now i need to install a cumulative updates -> 2967540 Cumulative update package 13 (CU13) for SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 2

    which is of a lower build -> 10.50.4319

    i am not given the choice to install the cumulative updates.

    please further advice.

    I am not too sure the build -> 2977319 was cause by the OS security patch.?

    Does the OS security patch include all the fixes from the CU 13? OR security patch is only for the database server and not pertaining to SQL Server.
