Original database and log file sizes

    HI,

    Is there a way to find out the original size of both a database and log file? Is this stored in a system table somewhere?

    Is there some reason you need this?

    I'm not sure this is stored as it's not really needed like it was in SQL 6.5 and previous.

    Now if you restore, the backup creates the necessarily files and sizes.

    Hi,

    I'm being asked by a software vendor whose products backend is sql. They want to know the original database size and it's creation date.
