  • I am having a problem doing a backup. It is weird because

I had this same problem this morning with transaction log

backups and after running a check db and changing from a

network account as a connection to the SA account the log

backed up fine. I am running

    Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.665 (Intel X86)

Enterprise Edition on Windows NT 5.0 (Build 2195:

    Service Pack 2)

When I try to run a manual backup on two of my databases

    I get these two errors:

Internal I/O request 0x13D037F8: Op: Write, pBuffer:

    0x160B0000, Size: 983040, Position: 332928512, UMS:

    Internal: 0x103, InternalHigh: 0x0, Offset: 0x13D81600,

    OffsetHigh: 0x0, m_buf: 0x160B0000, m_len: 983040,

    m_actualBytes: 0, m_errcode: 2, BackupFile:

    E:\DBbackups\cdpw_live.bak

    BackupMedium::ReportIoError: write failure on backup

    device 'E:\DBbackups\cdpw_live.bak'. Operating system

error 2(The system cannot find the file specified.).

Has anyone seen this? I am searching for it and have been

unsuccessful in finding anything as of yet.

  • What privileges the network account have both in SQL Server and in your domain?

  • SA in sql server and forest administrator in AD. I jsut backed it up to a different server with no problems so it seems to be linked to the E drive on my server. However, my database file is on there and there are no problems with it
