Open sql files in single instance of ssms

  I recently had to reinstall ssms on my local machine. Now, when I double-click on .sql files on my local machine they open in separate instances of ssms. They used to open in multiple tabs in a single instance.
  Any ideas on how to fix this? Environment details below:

  I don't know why that is, but why have you installed SSMS 2014 instead of the latest version, available here?

  This usually happens when I have two installs. One is the default for SQL files, one is the one I use.

  I've moved to SSMS 17.3 for all my stuff. I'd upgrade to here and set this as the default for .SQL files.
