I am exploring the online restore feature in 2005.The feature says we can restore a filegroup without bring the whole datbase offline.For that we have to bring the filegroup offline.How to bring a filegroup offline?What is the TSQl syntax?Please help

- AFAIK there is no "alter database xyz modify filegroup FG3 set offline"
- Did you take a look at "Performing Piecemeal Restores " in books online ?
- in a testsituation you could bring the db offline (alter database xyz set offline), rename the filegroup file, bring the db back online and perform you piecemeal restores.
