I tried answering this question according to what I have learned and it was incorrect, however this is an excerpt from MSDN:
"A DTS package can be saved on the 64-bit server, and a DTS package can be run against a SQL Server 2000 (64-bit) dataset, but the package must run from a 32-bit machine that is set up with SQL Server 2000 tools."
Doesn't that mean that you CAN run it?

The question WASN'T "can you run it"....the question was can you run it on a 64-bit machine. No, you can't.
(BTW- there is a forum for the Question of the Day, and in that forum the site managers/owners start threads for each of the QODs.).

Thanks so much. You are absolutely right. The wording threw me off. Also thanks for the heads up on the other group. I appreciate it.
