Hi All,
I have log shipping running between two win2k3 servers running sql 2000. To further ensure redundancy, I would like to take periodic full backups of the system. The main DB is a VLDB, so turning off log shipping and reconfiguring it can take hours if not days. I have tried to run backups from the warm standby, but it is not allowed, nor can you detach and reattach without losing "standby" status for the DB.
Any ideas on how to perform a full backup without modifying the log shipping configurations?

Sorry for the delay here. Are you looking to backup the primary or secondary?

If I could back up the secondary that would ideal, but either set up would suffice.
Is this possible?
Thanks for the reply!
