Hi,
Iam trying to run NGSSquirrel on a SQL box that is in a workgroup.I connect to the box directly using a cross-over cable.Network connectivity seems fine as i can ping the SQL box from my laptop.I tried to connect using a SQL account that has sysadmin privileges on SQL, but i get the message
scan failed: cannot connect/authenticate to the database
The SQL server runs in mixed-mode and iam unable to use the 'sa' password for variuos reasons.But the SQL account that iam using has enough privileges that i would expect.
Windows authentication obviuosly does not work (possibly bcos it is in a workgroup).I tried setting up same accounts on both but no luck.
Can you please suggest what i need to do to successfully run NGSSQuirrel in this scenario ?

Are you entering the hostname or IP address in the host to scan field.
Please try IP address and if that doesn't work, add the host name entry in the 'hosts' file.
