Hi Guys!
I am a true newbie to the term Replication. Can anyone elaborate for me or provide me any articles on Data Replication?
I need to know more about this because my company hopes to have a batch update(on a periodic basis) of data records from our external SQL Server to our intranet SQL Server. Would this be considered as data replication?

Replication is definitely one way to approach that problem. Depending on the complexity, a simple update statement or DTS package might be just as good. I'd suggest reading through BOL about transactional replication, it's going to be the type you'd want to use for this situation. You'll definitely want to experiment with it before trying in production. Overall it's very easy to use and very effective.
