New Monitor

  • Since we have to get clearance from our wives on our potential monitor purchase, why don't we just go all out and ask for this?

  • 1st reaction was "Dear Lord....  "

It only took me 3 years of begging to upgrade my 1Ghz machine (and only got the upgrade AFTER she started having problems)...

Now she has the monitor envy (She has 19in CRT (my old one) I now have 19in LCD) and feel INFERIOR now............ <SIGH>  something else I will never have...

  • You might have a chance if you do two things:

    1.  Buy her a big multi-caret rock on a ring for her

    2.  Tell her that you'll get a different monitor stand than what is in the picture!

    Good Luck!

  • I've seen some things in my time, but that is impressive.......

Not only would I have to persuade her to let me spend what I would imagine to be a fair chunk of hard earned £££, I'd also have to persuade her to allow me to take up a fair chunk of the spare room...

I think I know the answer without asking!!

Think I'll stick with the trusty laptop for now!

  • Why settle for one hugely expensive monitor. Just buy a few cheap ones.

  • My wife took one look at a 42" plasma screen and said "it takes up less room than our existing one and will require less dusting".

    What a woman!!!!!

It's a shame they are so expensive and the picture is crap. Add in to the mix that there is very little worth watching.

Had to laugh when I saw the seatbelt.

  • I saw one system some time ago.  I can't find any pictures on the net at the moment.  Some guy got hold of an old single seater cockpit and bolted a monitor on top of the body shell and a 14" monitor either side for wing mirrors.  He also wired in a surround sound system to the bodywork.  Wired in the pedals and steering wheel to complete it all.....

Not quite as impressive as the flight sim, but it looked pretty neat...
