Network Connection Problem

  • Sorry in advance for the vagueness.

At another plant, a technician can connect a raspberry pi device to a SQL database on 1 network subnet.

But when he switches to a different internal network, he can't connect to SQL , although he can ping the SQL box.

Would there be anything in SQL that would care about what network he's trying to connect from ?

His SQL credentials have not changed, just trying to connect the device from a different IP.

  • Network firewall blocking the traffic.  Speak to the network admins and ensure the needed ports are open between the subnets and SQL.
