received the 2 .ISO files (residing on disk on my LAN here at work) for SQL 2005 Developer Edition (32 bit) --- CD1 and CD2. Looking for instructions to burn 1 DVD w/ these
Can I merge the 2 extracted .ISO file contents into 1 DVD? (looks like there are common file & directory names)
Do I need to generate 2 CD's instead?
Any details are appreciated -- thx

Don't let the commonality of some of the files deceive you, one CD is the tools and the other the server.
You could extract both .ISO images to a drive and then burn them to a single dvd (actually they would probably both fit on a single cd).

Are you saying it's OK to overlay FILE123 on CD1 w/ FILE123 on CD2 into a single, target directory --- then burn to DVD?

Create two different folders and put the contents of each into a different folder.
There are articles around about the best folder structure for the two (ie put one in a tools folder and one in a server folder) that might provide guidance from that perspective.

personally i'd burn them to separate disks

Yeah -- turns out CD 1 is your SERVER; CD 2 is your TOOLS
2 DIR's created (SERVER, TOOLS) but will not fit on 1 700MB CD -- so you have to burn 2 CD's
Gonna create a single DVD w/ 2 DIR's (SERVER, TOOLS) to house each
