Need help on SQL Server Ent Edition SP4 upgradation.

  • We attempted to install SP4 on SQL server 2005.

We have noticed that one component appears to have been installed however the "other" component still requires upgrade.

Please can you advise if the installed component will need to be uninstalled and then reapplied as part of the new attempt, or if we can simply de-select this component?

Also, this is a two node Active/Passive cluster.

please can you provide detailed work instructions for this upgrade.

    The Errors are as below;

    1.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Product : Database Services (TEAMWORKS)

    Product Version (Previous): 4273

    Product Version (Final) :

    2.Products Disqualified & Reason

    Product Reason

SQL Server Database Services 2005 (TEAMWORKS) The product instance TEAMWORKS does not have prerequisite update 5000 installed. Update 5324 is dependent on prerequisite update 5000. Exit setup and refer to the Knowledge Base article to find the prerequisite patch. Install the prerequisite and rerun the installation.

    Summary

Product instances were disqualified due to baseline build version mismatch

    Exit Code Returned: 11205

What could be the reason and how to overcome this issue?

  • sounds like you are trying to install post SP4 security patch MS12-070(version 5234) without first applying SP4 itself (version 5000)

go back and apply SP4 first.

BTW, unless you have reporting services running on this server MS12-070 is not required.
