Kindest All,
Currently my infra, OS and database as follow
1. Processor: Intel® Xeon® processor 5000 sequence
2. RAM: 12GB
3. RAID 5
4. Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
5. SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition 64 bit
At this level, performance looks hurt
I intent to upgrade as follow
1. Processor: Intel® Xeon® processor 5000 sequence
2. RAM: 12GB
3. RAID 10
4. Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition 64 bit
5. SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition 64 bit
My objective is to make sure performance will be increased. Based on hardware, OS and SQL Server, Any advice for me to make sure the performance really increased?

Depends which CPU you're coming from and going to (how many cores, speed, etc), if the RAM is any faster (moving from DDR2 to DDR3 for instance), the speed of the drives you're upgrading to (Are you going to be using 15k SCSI drives compared to 7200rpm SATA drives in your current box, etc).
Simply upgrading the OS from 2003 to 2008 may or may not affect performance in any way...if it does, it won't be significant.

I am a little confused but if your current version is only 32bit you can just upgrade to 64bit even though your processor supports x64!
