Multiple DTS pkg migrations

  • Oy! It's finally time. We're getting off our last 2000 server and need to migrate a whole bunch of packages from DTS to SSIS. But... Every technique I try to upgrade the packages with only allows me to upgrade one at a time.

Isn't there a way where I can mass select a bunch of packages, say "Upgrade to .dtsx at Y location and log at Z location" and then worry about going into the packages individually to fix any problems?

It's getting really annoying have to repeat the upgrade steps for this many packages. @=/

  • Ahha. I just figured it out. You can't do multiple dts packages when they're stored as Structured Storage Files. You can only do it when they're stored in the MSDB and you directly connect to the server.

That stinks a bit. You'd think Microsoft would allow you to pick multiple SSFs also.

    Bleargh.
