I have done several experiments to try to resolve this and am unable to. Either a key piece of information is missing, or it's that it isn't possible to do this in SSAS, or that it really isn't possible to do this and somehow it's been presented at a high level that it's possible but it's really not. I have been able to do multiple calendars several different ways, but not this way. One writer even referred to this method as "another common approach." He that the Kimball books had additional information and provided page references. Although those page references were also describing multiple enterprise calendars, they provided very little additional information at all, let alone any technical information that would be needed to set this up correctly in SSAS. I have also done a lot of searching for a solution only to come up empty.
Without someone posting additional information, I would not waste any time trying to get this method to work.
