Multi Subnet AlwaysON cluster

  • Trying to clarify things.

I am creating a Multisubnet Cluster for Always ON Availability group.

3 nodes in 3 different subnets. How many IPs do I need for the Cluster and for the Listener.

    node 1 > ip       node 2 > ip      node 3 > ip

Cluster1 ... Does it need 1 ip in each subnet for a total of 3. Do all of them need to be registered in DNS? or just 1 of them and do an OR in the Cluster?

Listener.. it needs 3 ip addresses. Do all of them need to be registered in DNS?

  • you need 3 ip address for the cluster and 3 ip address for the listener
