Hi,
I have a client with 3 machines...
2 machines have Windows Vista Home Premium while one has XP Pro.
The MSDE 2000 is installed on one of the Vista Home Premium machine and it is acting as a 'Server' machine. The other Vista Home premium machine can connect to the MSDE 2000 instance through our application just fine.
We are having problems connecting to the MSDE 2000 instance from the XP Pro machine.
We have tried giving the IP address and also tried the entering TCP/IP port number in the connection string but unable to connect.
Can some one please help me with this?
Please note that our .net application is a working application and in the field for the past couple of years.
Thanks,
Anjali

Hi,
Before entering TCP/IP port number in the connection,
Call the ip in the run cmd, once the run cmd calls the ip successfully, and then go to system DSN
ARUN SAS
