SSMS crashes during this script any ideas what might cause this?

Running SQL Server 2014 Express and all it says is that SSMS has stopped working and needs to close.

Yep, as I expected when I read your post.. I forgot a FETCH in the first loop ...

An infinite loop is never good except when it's what you want...
