Hi,
I recently attended a discussion on using BDC Search of MOSS 2007 (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms563661.aspx). Our organization is trying to implement this feature for searching. Since this is a very introduction training, I did not had my queries answered.
a. I found BDC search is similar to Full Text Search in SQL Server. One advantage is load on the SQL Server is reduced, since MOSS maintains its own searched data in metadata store.
b. Load on the SQL Server is comparitively reduced. Can I go for frequent incremental crawl using BDC?
b. Does BDC search supports complex querying features like SQL?
c. Does BDC search supports Pivoting the results?
d. Support for XML Datatypes and XML - XPath search in BDC?
Can someone throw light on this?
I am sorry, if I have posted this in the wrong forum. Since it is a competitor for SQL Server Full Text Search, I have posted it here.
Thanks in advance.
