Hi all,
I've some doubt about log shipping. I want to know about the architecture behind the log shipping. i want to monitor the matrics related to log shipping. for which i want following information.
Scenario is like this - Suppose i have set the maintainane task for log shipping from the enterprise manager and set the schedule after 20 min per day.
My questions are.
1) Where the infomation gets stored about the logshipping (its
in the msdb system table or log file)?
2) How much data copied in each schedule from one machine to another machine. and what tile it would take to copy/load the data.
3) From where i will get the informatino about log shipping results? Its performed successfully or failed.

1> msdb see the log_shipping_* tables
2a> the size of the log file
2b> the time to backup the log, copy the backup file, and restore the log backup
3> EM - ServerName - Management - Log Shipping Monitor
Search books online (BOL) for answers using "log shipping", it is covered at all levels, including the fact that both servers must be Enterprise Edition.
