MMC / Shared server / delays when connecting

    Hi,

    When connecting to the server using Enterprise Manager, we experience

    a large delay whilst the server gathers all of the database names for

    other clients hosted on our ISPs server (running SQLServer 2000).

    In short, can we just access our own database to save this delay.

    It can 5-10 minutes on DSL to get our database opened.

    We have used the MMC to create a panel for our database only, but

    the delay is still noticeable (albeit slightly faster).

    Any ideas?

    Sorry the tool was built with the Server aspect in mind not really the database. No matter what you do it goes out and gets all the data thru various proceedures in master and builds the tree from that, it doesn't allow specifying a specific set to pull.
