I have a problem called SAP Business Objects (Data Integrator) that we desire to move away from.
Our choices are between SSIS and Pentaho PDI (Kettle). We use BO for ETL only.
Has anyone migrated away from Business Objects and lived to tell about it?
Also, I've been trying to find a good comparison chart between SSIS and Pentaho PDI. Anyone seen one? My google skills are failing me on this one. lol
Thanks

I thought BO was for reporting 🙂
Anyway, you probably won't find a comparison chart for Kettle and SSIS because Ketlle is a relative unknown player.
I've used Kettle a few years back at the university, and now use SSIS daily for my job.
I definately would go for SSIS. I'm not saying Kettle is a bad product, but you will find more resources, community assistance and documentation for SSIS than for Kettle.
The SQL Server community is widely developed (this site being a good example), with tons of articles, blogs and free training. It will also be more likely that you'll find easier good staff (internal or consultant) that know how to work with SSIS than with Kettle.
SSIS can connect with a multitude of sources and destination (I'm not sure about Kettle, it is a while since I used it), is extentible with .NET and has the world record for fastest ETL.
Need an answer? No, you need a question
