Hello Experts,
Need your advise about if there are bunch of databases which are in SQL 2000 and I need to migrate them all to SQL 2012/2014, whether any steps are involved?
Can I not able to directly restore the databases onto the new server, followed by moving jobs, and other stuff?
Please let me know your advises about the typically steps you are following as a best practice.
In one of the websites, I found that theysuggested to have a temp copy of sql 2008 and restoring dbs onto there first and then moving onto SQL 2014. But the issue is, the client may not accept / alow ro have that in place due to license issues and other logistical issues!!

Using a 2008 Evaluation version would give you 90 days to complete the migration without having to pay a license.
