  For a server dedicated as a SQL server, would it be better to have a faster clock speed on the processors or more cache?

  How many processors?

  For different number of processors, there are needed amount of cache:

  2-> 512 Kb

  4-> 1 Mb

  8-> 2 Mb

  After that you can prefer higher clock rate.
