Merge replication job failure

    Hello,

    On merge relication between two servers (sql2000 sp3) I get following error

    (in job history)

    Executed as user: sa. Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'publisher', table 'tempdb.dbo.MSreplication_agent_status'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. [SQLSTATE 23000] (Error 515)  The statement has been terminated. [SQLSTATE 01000] (Error 3621).  The step failed.

    after that, it is followed by:

    The specified subscription type is invalid.  The step failed.

    and

    The job failed.  The Job was invoked by User sa.  The last step to run was step 3 (Detect nonlogged agent shutdown.).  The job was requested to start at step 1 (Merge Agent startup message.).

    Try stopping and starting the agent. If that fails, reboot the SQL Server. If it still doesn't work, drop and recreate replication.
