We have a server with 17 Gigs of Ram , VM of about 24 Gigs . OS 2003 Standard Edition R1 64 bit .
The Sql Server is configured with 5G min and 10G max memory.
The situation is so: The server detects that a memory problem apears and begins to make a ton of swap. There is no real memory problem.
When swap is done nothing moves on the server.
I have seen some strange values in dm_os_ring_buffers
indicating that somehow sql server believes there is a memory low signal comming.
Had somebody a similar situation ? Does anybody know about dm_os_ring_buffers and especially about the "RING_BUFFER_RESOURCE_MONITOR" ?

I agree, please give me some hints , If you have seen memory drops on your SQL servers without any clear reason . I will put service Pack 1 next week , so could be this will solve the problem
