Hi All,
I have a SSIS jobs to
1) backup databases ---> daily works fine
2) backup transaction logs --> for every four hors works fine
3) delete backup --> once a day sysdate-1 wirks fine
4) delete transaction logs -- once a day sysdate-1 " doen not work at all"
I dont why,
I am setting up some thing wrong
i have tried to google, and specify the exact file but still nothing works
Any help please

TSQL from the jobs is
EXECUTE master.dbo.xp_delete_file 1,N'F:\DBATEST',N'.trn',N'2010-04-27T16:56:20',1

Remove the . in the extension parameter. If you compare the above with the one that is working, you'll see the one that is working does not have the period.

Hi All,
Thanks for your reply,
I have removed "." from the file extension but still it doesn't delete any files
but the job logs say it ran successfully

Validate the folder location and whether or not you have checked the box to create a folder for each database. If that box is checked for the backups, the cleanup task also has to be set to look in the sub-folders.
