Hi,
I configured outlook on the server so that when I go into the SQL Server Agent properties,
the drop down box would have a the profile. This part appears to work ok. I am able to select the mail profile in the SQL Server Agent Properties. Then I click the Test button to check if it is ok and I get "Successfully started (and stopped) a mail session with this profile" message. Which presumeably the expected message to indicate that it is ok. I hit apply and then ok. I restart the SQL Server Agent. Then I check the SLQ Server Agent properties again and for some reason the profile has disappeared.
I've tried setting the mail profile both remotely and in the server. But mail profile still keeps dropping.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

I have worked it out.
The mail profile (for the account used fro SQL Service Service) setup at the server needs to be set as the default. Interestingly however, Outlook did not make it the default even though it is the only profile.
