I am having problems keeping the backup server files in seq with its primary server using log shipping. I get occasional errors with xp_splmaint. Do you have access to this extended store procedure code? Has anyone had any luck with log shipping?

Haven't tried it, but I have seen others report errors. SQLMaint seems to be, imho, not a really solid piece of code.
I implemented my own with DTS where I ftp the files (see my PushFTP article) and then have another job on the downstream server to run through and apply log files. It took some time, but it worked. And I can debug it if something breaks.

I have not used it in production, we use transactional replication to move to a reporting server that doubles as the dr box. Have used it at home on a single machine with no issues, tested here between two servers with no problems. There were a set of procs in... back office resource kit I think..that would set up log shipping. What errors are you getting? You're using SQL2KEE?
