Hi RobV,
I've managed to duplicate this issue in our test environment, and have found an IE setting that fixed the issue for me.
If you Open IE, choose Tools => Internet Options => Security Tab => Custom Level
Set "Navigate subframes across different domains" to Enable.
I hope this fixes the issue for you, but if you're still seeing the problem, please do let us know!

Thanks Ben! That did work fine.
I might mention that we discovered recently that we could Shift-Click the links before setting the IE option you mentioned.

Great, glad to hear it worked for you!
We also noticed that shift+clicking the links worked (as does right clicking and selecting open in new window), but obviously being forced to open each and every search result in a new window is less than ideal!
