Hi all,
Is it possible to import data from an Excel file located on a SharePoint folder through a linked server?
I have tried to open the Excel folder directly in Windows explorer, then use the direct link as data source in the linked server properties but that doesn't work.
I am aware of how to create a LS to Excel with the Microsoft driver, I am using the same settings but then only the online folder location.
Is it even technically possible?
Thanks for any help,
Henk

I dislike linked servers (because of its unstable behaviour by nature )
Why aren't you considering a (scheduled or evan ad-hoc launch) SSIS package ?

Unfortunately our platform currently only support the import by linked server, which I agree is not ideal but I'll have to try to make it work - if possible on SharePoint.
Cheers.
