Why windows group can't be mapped in linked server login mapping? I would like to understand reason behind this restriction. Please let me know if you have any altenative/work around to over come this.
Always been a bug bear of mine to but there is no way round it. Just create a SQL login on the remote server and map to it. Just a pain if you don't have SQL set to use SQL authentication.
