  I created linked server from Azure to On prem and when i do a  test connection it fails

  Named pipes provide could not open a connection to SQL server

  OLEDB provider MSOLEDB  for linked server returned message login timeout expired. a network or instance specific error occurred while establishing a connection to sql server. server is not found or accessible.

   

  When i create the linked server vice versa it works successfully. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
