Hi All,
What is the licensing requirement for Windows Server 2008 if it is hosting SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition and SQL Server has a processor license?
Also: Is the answer different when using SQL Server + CALs?
Thanks.

That would depend on how users connect to SQL Server. If you have SQL Server licensed per processor and are using Integrated Security, each user would require a Windows Server CAL (not a SQL Server CAL). If you are using SQL Server Authentication, then the users would not require a Windows Server CAL as SQL Server would be handling that aspect, not Windows Server.
Does Windows Server have an unlimited license, I don't know. You should check with Microsoft, or at least start by checking their web site.

Thanks for that, I have been searching all over for an answer (including MSFT). Anyway: We are using a SQL processor license and SQL authentication so it seems we do not need additional licensing for the OS.
