Nice question, on a seemingly simple, but not so, issue. Thanks!

    Nice question.

It's surprising that nearly 40% (80 out of 203) answers are wrong. Some of that is just finger trouble (people just clicking in the wrong place) perhaps, but most of it must be people getting it wrong.

... and I am one of them.. at first... yea.. its easy.... 5 5 5.. after submitting (and before the actually answer displayed) ... "oh no ... it is datalength... not len.." ๐Ÿ˜€ (but inside... :crying:)

Thanks for the easy question to end the day... haha.. I got burnt with the LEN overlooking the leading spaces once...Good that I remember a lesson learnt in the past.....

We don't use CHAR much, mostly NVARCHAR. My first thought was length of a CHAR field, as opposed to result of the LEN operation. Fortunately I re-thought before answering!:-P

I decided to submit this question when I saw this question from 2010[/url], because some people mentioned there should be an option involving leading spaces.

That seems to be the wrong link - today's question, not a 2010 one.
